Cyclist Seriously Injured in Crash with Motorcycle on Hayling Island

Police are hunting witnesses after a nasty collision between a motorcycle and a pushbike left a cyclist seriously hurt on Hayling Island.

Collision on Langstone Road

Just before 11pm on Friday, October 21, a red Honda 125cc bike smashed into a dark Carrera Vengence pedal cycle on the southbound carriageway of Langstone Road.

The impact hurled both riders off their bikes. The cyclist, a 59-year-old man from Havant, suffered a serious head injury. He was rushed to southampton-general-hospital/" title="Southampton General Hospital" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital by ambulance.

The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old local, escaped with only a minor leg injury.

Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses

PC Peter Sarginson urged anyone who saw the crash or noticed either vehicle near Langstone Road around 11pm on October 21 to come forward.

“We would like to hear from anybody who may have witnessed this incident, or anyone who saw the motorcycle or pedal cycle near the collision area around 11pm last night (Oct 21).”
