Man Brutally Attacked After Walk in Early Hours
A man in his 30s was viciously assaulted on St George’s Road in the early hours, leaving him battered but fighting back.
Attack at Dawn
Between 2am and 3.20am, the victim was walking near the junction with Lethaby Road and St Mary’s Road when he was ambushed from behind by a man and a woman.
The male suspect snatched the victim’s wallet while the female suspect struck him over the head with a wine bottle, briefly knocking him out. The victim sustained injuries to his head and torso but regained consciousness and stood up to confront the attackers. Unfortunately, he was attacked again on St George’s Road.
Police Seeking Suspects and Witnesses
Detectives describe the suspects as white and aged late 20s to mid 30s.
- Male suspect: Short hair, average build, wearing a long-sleeved top or jacket with markings down each arm, shorts, dark socks, and light-coloured Adidas trainers.
- Female suspect: Slim build with hair tied in a high bun, wearing a light-coloured jacket with fur trim and dark trousers, carrying three 1-litre bottles.
Officers are especially keen to speak to the driver of a black hatchback seen in the area around the time of the incident, who may have witnessed the attack.
