Scaffolding Crash in Hove Leaves Cars Wrecked but No One Hurt
Chaos hit Hove seafront on Thursday afternoon when towering scaffolding plunged from a building, smashing into several parked cars below. The dramatic tumble sparked panic, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Emergency Services Sprint to Scene at Kingsway Court
The incident unfolded just after 1.30pm at Kingsway Court on First Avenue, close to the bustling seafront. Large sections of scaffolding crashed onto the road, forcing an immediate response from East Sussex Fire and Rescue, Sussex Police, and South East Coast Ambulance Service.
A fire service spokesperson said crews were scrambled at 1.29pm. Firefighters from Preston Circus swiftly secured the area, teaming up with police to set safety barriers and keep the public out of harm’s way.
Parked Cars Smashed, But No Casualties

- Paramedics checked the scene, but no injuries were treated
- Fire crews cleared the scene by 3.15pm, handing over to contractors
Experts are now assessing the building’s stability. Contractors have taken over to secure the site and prevent any further risks.
