A major accident on the M25 in Hertfordshire has caused significant traffic disruption, resulting in long delays and lane closures on both sides of the motorway. Emergency services are currently attending the scene, with police closely monitoring the situation.

As of 11:55 PM last night, one lane was closed anticlockwise between Junction 19 (Watford) and Junction 18 (Rickmansworth A404) following a crash. This closure has slowed traffic to a near standstill, with drivers warned to prepare for heavy delays.

On the clockwise side at Junction 19 (Watford), a serious three-vehicle collision led to the closure of the exit slip road. An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene, highlighting the severity of the incident.

According to the latest traffic update, the anticlockwise entry slip road has now reopened. However, motorists are urged to drive with caution through the affected areas. Delays are expected to continue as emergency teams work to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.

Drivers are advised to stay tuned for further updates as the M25 gridlock in Hertfordshire persists.
