Aldi has once again been crowned the cheapest supermarket in the UK for 2023, securing the title for the third year running. Consumer watchdog Which? has named Aldi the Cheapest Supermarket of the Year, confirming the discount retailer’s position at the top of the price charts.

Which? conducted its annual price comparison by testing everyday essentials such as bread, milk, and eggs. Aldi consistently offered the lowest prices, outperforming its competitors by a significant margin. In addition to the yearly award, Aldi also earned the title of cheapest supermarket for the month of December alone.

Julie Ashfield, Aldi’s Managing Director of Buying, commented on the achievement: “We’re absolutely delighted to be named the Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for a third year running. We’re committed to offering shoppers the best quality products at the lowest prices, and it’s fantastic to have that officially recognised by a respected champion like Which?”

In 2023, Aldi not only maintained its position as the cheapest supermarket overall but also won the monthly cheapest supermarket award a record 11 times. With living costs continuing to rise, Aldi’s unbeatable value helps shoppers manage tight budgets while attracting repeat customers.

Looking ahead to 2024, Aldi promises to uphold its no-frills, low-price approach, remaining the preferred destination for savvy bargain hunters across the UK.
