A suspected drug dealer has been caught red-handed in West Kent as police intensify their efforts to combat drug crime in the region.

On Sunday, 17 November 2024, officers on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle on London Road, Southborough. The car was followed into Holden Park Road, where it eventually stopped and the driver was immediately arrested.

During the arrest, police discovered 18 bags believed to contain cocaine, along with a stash of cash and a mobile phone.

The suspect, 27-year-old Emilijano Celaj from Broad Street, Dagenham, Essex, now faces multiple charges including possession with intent to supply cocaine, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.

Celaj appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 19 November and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to return to Maidstone Crown Court on 16 December.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “This arrest and subsequent charges show our commitment to tackling drug-related crime in our communities. We will keep targeting suppliers to ensure justice is served.”

The police are urging the community to report any suspicious activity related to drug dealing. Members of the public can provide anonymous information to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
