Firefighters rushed to Quarry Wood Industrial Estate in Aylesford following reports of a suspected chemical spill. Kent Fire and Rescue Service deployed five fire engines to the scene to address the potential hazard.

The emergency crew brought in specialised Detection, Identification and Monitoring (DIM) officers along with an incident support unit to accurately assess the threat posed by the chemical spill.

At the scene, two fire engines and DIM officers remained on site, collaborating closely with Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) teams. The SECAmb response included the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), ambulance crews, a Critical Care Paramedic, and a Paramedic Practitioner.

Fifteen individuals were treated at the location for minor symptoms related to the incident. Emergency services continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety of all involved.
