Hampshire Police are urgently appealing for witnesses following a serious crash on the A3 near Liss just before midnight on December 18.

Officers were called after a black Volkswagen Passat was seen driving southbound in the northbound lane. Shortly after 11.50pm, the Passat collided head-on with a BMW near the Ham Barn roundabout. A third vehicle, a Renault, then crashed into the Passat.

The 23-year-old driver of the Passat was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the drivers of the BMW and Renault walked away without injury.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the Passat travelling the wrong way or who has dashcam footage of vehicles heading south from Liphook on the northbound carriageway to come forward.
