Hampshire Police are actively investigating after a 48-year-old woman was groped by a stranger in Fleet. The incident took place just after midnight on Sunday, 29 July, on Reading Road South, between Longmead and Basingbourne Roads.

The victim was walking alone when a man approached her, spoke briefly, and then suddenly grabbed her from behind. The man touched her inappropriately over her clothes. The woman was able to break free when a passerby appeared, causing the man to flee the scene. Fortunately, the woman was not physically injured.

Police are urgently seeking information to identify and locate the suspect.

Suspect Description:

  • White male
  • In his 40s
  • Height between 5ft 7in and 6ft tall
  • Large build
  • Strawberry blonde hair, cut grade 4/5
  • Wearing a white shirt, dark blue or black gilet, and dark shorts

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team have increased patrols in the area to ensure public safety.

  • Inform someone of your whereabouts and expected return time
