Police have launched an investigation after a woman was found dead in a Tottenham alleyway on Sunday afternoon.

The woman, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, was discovered unresponsive at 1.08pm on April 2 on Grange Road, Tottenham. Emergency services were called to a long alley behind residential homes and warehouses, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbours reported hearing loud arguments and screaming in the early hours of the morning, describing a fierce row between a man and a woman. One neighbour told the Evening Standard, “It sounded like a husband and wife squabble. I tried to ignore it.” Another neighbour saw the victim’s body being removed from the scene at around 10pm on Sunday night.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, “Enquiries are underway to establish her identity and next of kin. The death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation. No arrests have been made.” London Ambulance Service confirmed they dispatched multiple units to the location but were unable to save the woman.

Police have urged anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting reference 3179/2 April.
