Police rushed to Albany Road, Brentford, on the evening of Friday, 12 November, after reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old man, Ali Abucar Ali, and a woman with stab wounds. Ali was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to hospital but has since been discharged with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives have uncovered CCTV footage showing two men who may have witnessed the attack. Officers are eager to speak to these individuals to assist with the investigation.
The first man is described as white, ginger-haired, wearing black glasses, a long grey coat, shorts, and trainers. He was seen walking along Wilkes Road towards Albany Road carrying what appeared to be a takeaway bag. The second man, also white with light hair, wore distinctive thick-framed glasses and carried a rucksack. He was observed walking up Albany Road towards Brook Road South just before the stabbing.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie said: “We are really keen to speak to the men in the CCTV images as we believe they are significant witnesses in the murder of Ali Abucar Ali and the attempted murder of an 82-year-old woman. Please be assured, you are not in any trouble but may be able to assist with the investigation. On Sunday, 14 November, a 37-year-old man was charged with the murder of Ali Abucar Ali and the attempted murder of the 82-year-old woman.
