Hampshire Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred this afternoon, July 10, near Morestead.

At approximately 4.15pm, two motorcycles were travelling southeast along Corhampton Lane from Morestead. One rider, aged 36, lost control of his motorcycle at the junction with the B3035, locally known as The Hangers. The motorcycle veered off the road and crossed onto the opposite carriageway.

Tragically, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that the second motorcycle was not involved in the collision.

Next of kin have been informed, but Hampshire Police will not release the motorcyclist’s name until formal identification is confirmed. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for tomorrow.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the motorcyclists in the Morestead area beforehand to come forward. They are particularly interested in any dashcam or helmet camera footage that could assist the investigation.
