Blaze Erupts Just After Midnight
Firefighters rushed to Northleach Drive, Hemlington, at around 12:30am on Saturday after a fierce fire broke out on Christmas Day 1. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but police confirmed the property suffered “extensive damage.”
Massive Damage to Ground Floor
Cleveland Fire Brigade dispatched two crews from Coulby Newham and Thornaby to tackle the blaze. They managed to extinguish the fire by approximately 1:20am. Officials reported that the ground floor was 50% damaged by flames, with the rest of the house affected by smoke.
Police Launch Investigation, Seek Witnesses
Detectives have launched a probe into the cause of the fire. They are calling on anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage to come forward and assist the investigation.
