Car Owner Caught in Brutal Bat Rampage
Police rushed to Burford Road, Hyson Green, just after 8.30pm yesterday when an Audi A3 came under attack by a mob wielding baseball bats. The car’s owner was inside during the savage assault and told officers he had a Snapchat row with a man before the chaos erupted.
Attackers Flee in Two Cars – No Injuries Reported
The gang smashed the vehicle to bits before fleeing in two separate cars. Miraculously, no one was hurt in the violent spree.
Police Nab Eight Suspects in Vehicle Sting
- Minutes later, cops stopped a Vauxhall Astra on Lenton Boulevard and arrested five men aged 18 to 21 on suspicion of affray and criminal damage.
- Shortly after midnight, a Volkswagen Golf was stopped in Forest Fields, leading to the arrest of three males aged 17 and 18 for the same crimes.
Investigation Ongoing – Police Seek Witnesses
“This was a large-scale disturbance,” said Detective Sergeant Steve Dalby of Nottinghamshire Police.
“We’re continuing our investigation but are confident this was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public. This type of violence is unacceptable, and we will hold all responsible to account.”
