Mother of Three Killed in Hit-and-Run on Bawtry High Street
Tragedy struck just after midnight on Sunday, July 24, when emergency services rushed to the A638 High Street in Bawtry following a hit-and-run collision.
Two Pedestrians Struck as Driver Flees Scene
Two pedestrians were crossing the road when a vehicle slammed into them and drove off without stopping. Sadly, Keita Mullen, a mother of three, died at the scene despite paramedics’ frantic efforts. A 33-year-old woman was also hit but suffered only minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Arrests Made as Police Hunt for Nissan Juke
- A 33-year-old man was arrested on July 28 on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.
- A 49-year-old woman arrested for reckless driving has been released while investigations continue.
Police believe the vehicle involved was a Nissan Juke heading down High Street towards Great North Road.
