A huge blast has ripped through a remote spot just four miles from the famous Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire. Emergency crews scrambled to the scene after two buildings were blasted apart in the dramatic explosion.
Heroic Rescue Amidst Debris and Damage
Eyewitness Tommy Beardmore revealed his elderly father was a first responder on the scene, helping injured victims. “There’s been an explosion near Alton. Two buildings blew up within the hour,” Tommy said. “My dad was the first on the scene and helped someone who was injured. He’s a hero.”
He added that windows in nearby homes were shattered, with debris scattered across roads and trees.
Emergency Services Busiest As Blast Investigation Underway
Police, firefighters, and paramedics remain at the scene in Bradley in the Moors, close to Alton Towers, working to assess the extent of damage and injuries. Staffordshire Fire Service has warned the public to steer clear as the emergency response continues.
Road Closures Hit Local Travel
Bradley Lane is shut both ways from the B5032 junction to Sandy Lane, causing travel disruption in the area. Authorities urge drivers and residents to avoid the zone for their own safety while investigations and clean-up efforts are underway.
