Police were called to Addison Crescent in Holland Park at 5:30 PM on Thursday, 28 November following reports of a man carrying what looked like a firearm.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police arrived quickly and confronted the individual. After a thorough search, they determined that the supposed weapon was actually an umbrella.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and spoke with the man. No weapon was found, and it was confirmed he was holding an umbrella. No arrests were made.”

The incident caused a brief scare among local residents, but police reassured the community that there was no danger.

Residents were commended for their prompt reporting of the suspicious activity, which helped ensure a swift police response.
