Tragic biker death in Great Wakering crash – Police launch urgent probe

Police are hunting answers after a deadly collision in Great Wakering last night, Wednesday 15 July. The horror unfolded at 6.20pm when a grey Mercedes smashed into a white Yamaha motorbike near the Barling Road junction on London Road.

Despite frantic efforts by paramedics, the motorbike rider – a local man in his 50s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests yet, but investigation underway

The Mercedes driver is cooperating fully with officers. No arrests have been made so far as cops dig through the evidence.

London Road remains shut and drivers are warned to steer clear of the area until early Thursday morning.

Key witnesses urged to come forward

Police are especially keen to speak with the driver of a silver Vauxhall, believed to be a Corsa or Astra, who was seen ahead of the Mercedes just before the crash. Authorities believe this person could hold vital information.
