Man Sets Car on Fire with Driver Inside at Locks Heath Centre

Police are hunting witnesses after a terrifying attack at Locks Heath Centre this Sunday afternoon. At around 3.45pm on June 12, an 18-year-old man sat in his car when another vehicle pulled up beside him. A man jumped out, doused the car in petrol, and set it ablaze — with the victim still inside!

Lucky Escape as Car Goes Up in Flames

The victim managed to get out uninjured before the car was engulfed in flames. The attacker fled the scene immediately. Local police acted fast and arrested a 21-year-old man from Locks Heath, who is now in custody being questioned over the shocking incident.

Police Plea for Witnesses

Detective Sergeant Damian Glendenning urged anyone who was near Locks Heath Centre at the time to come forward.

“We know there were a lot of people in the area at the time, so it is very likely a number of people would have witnessed what happened,” he said. “We are treating this as an isolated incident.”
