Woman Fights Off Phone Snatcher in Dark Lane

Just after 5.30pm, a woman was walking down a pitch-black lane linking Bath Road to Saxon Close. Using her phone as a torch, she was suddenly ambushed.

Attacker Jumps Out, But Victim Fights Back

Halfway down the lane, a man leapt out from behind a wall, trying to snatch her phone. A quick scuffle broke out. The woman hit her head on the wall but managed to land a punch to the attacker’s stomach, forcing him to drop the phone and flee.

Police Seek Slim Man in All Black

The attacker is described as male, slim, around 5’8″, dressed head-to-toe in black.

A police spokesman said: “This is a concerning crime during which the victim had to fight off her attacker – sustaining cuts and grazes in the process. If you know who is responsible for this attempted robbery, please call us without hesitation.”
