Woman Fights Off Phone Thief in Dark Lane

Just after 5.30pm, a woman was making her way down a pitch-black lane linking Bath Road to Saxon Close. She used her phone as a torch to light the path.

Suddenly, a man jumped out from behind a wall and tried to snatch her phone.

Struggle Ends with Attacker Running Off

The two fought briefly. The woman hit her head on the wall but didn’t back down. She landed a punch to the attacker’s stomach, forcing him to let go before he fled the scene.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

  • Attacker described as male, slim, about 5’8″, dressed all in black.

“This is a concerning crime during which the victim had to fight off her attacker – sustaining cuts and grazes in the process. If you know who is responsible for this attempted robbery, please call us without hesitation,” said a police spokesman.
