Knife-Wielding Thief Chases Victim on Bike in Earley!
Morning Horror on Adams Way
Thames Valley Police are hunting a knife-wielding thug after a terrifying robbery attempt in Earley. At around 9am last Thursday (April 12), a 29-year-old man was walking along Adams Way when a man on a black mountain bike confronted him. The villain demanded his phone and cash.
The victim refused – and the attacker brandished a grey number 1 knife. But quick-thinking victim pushed the attacker off his bike and bolted to safety. Luckily, no one was harmed.
What the Thief Looked Like
- Black male, around 5ft 8ins, slim build
- Wearing black hooded top (hood up), grey tracksuit bottoms
- Sporting a black baseball cap
- Rode a black mountain bike with a plastic chain lock wrapped around the handlebars
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Case investigator Claire Morgan from the Loddon Valley Investigation Hub said: “We want to hear from anyone who saw the attempted robbery or has info that could crack this case.”
The victim spotted a learner driver’s car nearby during the attack. “If you were in that vehicle or driving in the area between 8.45am and 9.15am, please check your dash-cam footage. You might have caught the attacker on camera or something important,” Morgan urged.
