Wiltshire Police are investigating a serious collision that occurred on Brickworth Road, Whiteparish, on the morning of Friday, 22 November. At approximately 10:20am, a woman in her 70s was struck by a silver VW Transporter van.

The van is believed to have mounted the pavement before hitting the pensioner, causing her to sustain serious injuries. She was immediately taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and is cooperating fully with the police. No arrests have been made at this stage as the investigation continues.

Wiltshire Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team. They can be reached on 01225 694597, quoting log number 79 of 22 November. Alternatively, witnesses can email SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk.

The crash has caused concern among local residents, who are calling for greater caution from drivers on Brickworth Road, a busy pedestrian route. Wiltshire Police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and have pledged to provide updates as new information becomes available.
