Sussex Police have launched a fast-paced investigation following the rape of a woman in her 20s at a Worthing car park on the night of Wednesday, March 11.

The assault occurred shortly after 8pm in the Lyndhurst Road Car Park. Authorities have confirmed they are actively investigating this disturbing incident.

The victim is currently receiving specialist support. Detective Superintendent Jay Mendis-Gunasekera stated: “We are at the early stages of this investigation and the victim will continue to receive our full support as this progresses. Detectives are exploring a number of lines of enquiry to identify and locate a suspect.”

In response to the incident, police will increase patrols overnight and plan to close the car park during the day to preserve vital evidence.
