Stockwood Predator Curtis Otley Jailed for 18 Years
Curtis Otley, 20, from Showering Road, Stockwood, has been slammed with an 18-year jail sentence at Bristol Crown Court. He was convicted on 12 horrific sexual offence charges against five girls under 18. The crimes, including rape and attempted rape, took place between 2020 and 2023.
Victims Show Incredible Bravery
Otley’s victims, praised for their courage by police, revealed how deeply his vile acts shattered their lives. One girl, in a heartbreaking victim statement, said she feared no one would believe her until the verdict was finally in.
“I feel like Curtis has taken a large part of this away from me,” she said.
Another added, “I don’t trust anyone at all anymore. I am quite reserved with male friends and find it difficult to let my guard down.”
A victim’s mother spoke openly about the lasting damage, saying her daughter now doesn’t trust boys or men and has no interest in future relationships. “She feels that boys and men can’t be trusted,” her mum revealed.
Operation Topaz Cracks Case
The investigation was led by Operation Topaz, a specialist team tackling child sexual exploitation. Detective Sergeant Erika Winbow credited the courage of survivors and the dedication of childcare professionals and community support groups who helped bring Otley to justice.
DS Winbow praised her team, especially Detective Constable Katrina Collier, for their relentless work in securing this strong conviction and ensuring Otley is behind bars.
Otley’s manipulative crimes have left a lasting scar on his victims, but the court’s verdict marks a vital step in their fight for justice.
