Drugs Raid Nets Cannabis and Cash in Eastwood Flat
Police swooped on a flat in Manor Road, Eastwood, after serving a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant. Officers seized bags of cannabis, cash, and mobile phones in a major crackdown on drug crime.
Joint Police Operation Targets Drug Dealers
The raid was carried out by Broxtowe County’s Operation Reacher team alongside the neighbourhood policing squad. This was part of a wider campaign to tackle drug-related crime and shield locals from the toxic effects of illegal drugs.
Inspector Mike Ebbins told us: “Proactive focused operations like this show our relentless drive to hit hard those making money from drugs in our communities.”
Firm Message to Crime Lords
“We’ll keep taking positive action to protect people by arresting dealers and ripping drugs off the streets. This will disrupt their filthy trade,” said Ebbins.
“We won’t tolerate this criminality. We’ll use every power to block them profiting from other people’s misery.”
Community Crime Priority
Broxtowe police say drug dealing fuels theft, antisocial behaviour, and exploitation of vulnerable people. It’s a top priority to tackle these linked crimes.
“We’re determined to make Eastwood and the wider Broxtowe area a no-go zone for criminals bringing harm to our streets,” said the Inspector.
Public Help Urged
Residents are urged to help police take out drug dealers. Report suspicious activity by calling Nottinghamshire Police on 101, or 999 in an emergency. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
Following the raid on Friday 13 January 2023, a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug. He was later released on conditional bail as investigations continue.
