Speeding Audi Leads to Massive Cocaine Bust in Kent
On Saturday 24 June 2023, Kent Police’s Proactive Targeting Team spotted an Audi tearing through Rusthall, clearly speeding. The officers tailed the car and watched it pull up in Grange Gardens, where a woman hopped into the passenger seat.
Driver Caught with 90 Bags of Cocaine
The cops moved in and detained the driver, 25-year-old Xheladin Thaci from Islip Road, Oxford. A thorough search uncovered 70 bags of cocaine stashed in the front offside door pocket. They also found another 20 packets cleverly hidden inside a cigarette pack—and a mobile phone.
Thaci refused to hand over his phone PIN and was promptly arrested. He faced charges of possessing cocaine with intent to supply and driving without insurance.
Jailed After Guilty Plea
Thaci pled guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and was sentenced on Thursday 28 September. The dealer was locked up for two years and one month for his crimes.
Force Warns County Line Dealers: Arrests Are Inevitable
“Another dealer seeking to supply cocaine in Kent has been brought to justice,” said Detective Constable Nell Shortis of West Kent CID.
“Our officers are quick to spot travelling criminals and relentless in finding hidden class A drugs. The message to county line dealers is clear – it’s not a question of if you’ll be arrested, but when.”
