Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed with £4,000 in Cash, Cocaine & Knife Jailed for Over Six Years
6 Years and 2 Months Behind Bars for Shihab Elamir
Shihab Elamir, 24, from Merton, has been locked up for six years and two months after police nabbed him with a stash of half a kilo of high-purity cocaine, thousands in cash, and a deadly spring-loaded knife. The court also slapped him with a 14-year Criminal Behaviour Order limiting him to just one registered mobile phone.
Cops Snatch Drugs and Cash in Minicab Sting
On the evening of 13 February, officers stopped a white Toyota Prius on the M40 near Kingston. Elamir was a passenger inside. A thorough search uncovered four neatly wrapped blocks of cocaine scattered around the car—hidden in door pockets, his jacket, and a bum bag in the boot.
- Half a kilogram of cocaine split into four parcels
- Small bag of cannabis behind passenger seat
- £4,153.86 in cash stashed in various spots
- Spring-operated lock knife found in bum bag
- Three mobile phones, despite attempts to ditch them
Police Investigation Uncovers More Drugs at East Molesey Address
Following the bust, detectives raided Elamir’s home in East Molesey. There, they seized crack cocaine, heroin, scales, and a pestle and mortar believed to be used for prepping class A drugs.
Detective Warns: Drug Dealing Destroys Communities
“The evidence against Elamir was overwhelming, leaving him no choice but to plead guilty,” said Detective Constable Stuart Hobkirk. “Dealing class A drugs wrecks lives and communities. The Met is determined to rid London’s streets of these illegal substances and bring dealers to justice.”
