Early morning punch-up leaves two women injured
Police were called to Gladstone Street in Forest Fields at around 1.10am on Sunday after reports of a disturbance involving 18-year-old Tye-rhis Marshall.
Marshall punched two women, leaving both with facial injuries in a shocking early morning attack.
Cop punched and spat at after arrest
Officers arrived and tried to calm the situation, only to be met with aggression from Marshall.
When they moved to arrest him, Marshall turned his fury on the police, assaulting an officer and even spitting in their face once in custody. The officer suffered minor injuries.
Thug faces justice with suspended jail term and restraining order
Marshall, a local resident, was charged with two counts of assault by beating and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, pleading guilty to all charges.
Sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, Marshall was also handed a six-month restraining order banning contact with the victims.
Additionally, he must complete 10 rehabilitation days and pay £50 compensation.
Police warn violence won’t be tolerated
Inspector Ben Lawrence, leader of the City Central Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “There is absolutely no excuse for this level of aggression towards the public or emergency workers. “Marshall’s actions crossed the line and brought him before the courts. “I hope this sentence is a wake-up call or he’ll soon be back in trouble.”
