Baby Dies in Sparkhill Horror as Man Arrested for Murder
Tragedy struck Sparkhill in the early hours as police rushed to Dovey Road just after 3.40am. A baby was found not breathing and despite paramedics’ desperate efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.
Man, 29, Held Over Baby’s Death
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Police say detectives are not hunting anyone else in connection with the shocking incident.
Two Women Injured in Disturbing Incident
- A 26-year-old woman sustained injuries believed to be non-life threatening and was taken to hospital for treatment.
- A second woman suffered a head injury but has since been discharged after hospital care.
Police Promise Extra Patrols After Tragic Incident
Inspector Neil Kirkpatrick, leading local policing, said: “This is a real tragedy and our thoughts go out to everyone involved. We’ll have extra officers in the area over the coming days to offer reassurance.”
