Serial Abuser Christopher Coleman Busted Again
Christopher Coleman, 59, from Milford, has pleaded guilty to six sex crimes against the same victim. Charges include three counts of gross indecency, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of buggery. The offences began back in 1998, more than a year after Coleman met the victim through an internet chatroom.
Victim Comes Forward Years Later
The victim stepped forward in February 2019 after spotting a local news article about Coleman’s 2013 conviction for similar offences. Coleman was originally handed two life sentences with a minimum of 15 years, later reduced to 12 upon appeal.
“I want to thank Surrey Police for putting Coleman behind bars,” the victim told officers, revealing they too had been abused by Coleman.
New Investigation Launched, Coleman Arrested
Following the victim’s call, Surrey Police launched a fresh investigation. Coleman was arrested in June 2019 on suspicion of multiple sexual offences related to this case.
The disturbing pattern of abuse stretches back decades, and victims continue to find courage to come forward.
