Gunshot Horror in Broad Daylight on Derby Road
Police were called at 2:33pm on Saturday, January 7, after a 26-year-old man was rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound. His family have been informed.
Trident Detectives Hunt Brazen Gunmen
Specialist Crime officers from Trident say the victim was sitting in a car with friends on Derby Road EN3 when two suspects suddenly opened fire and fled on foot.
“The community is horrified and disgusted that such violence erupted in broad daylight on their streets,” said Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger. “We share those feelings and are determined to catch those responsible.”
“Often, the key to solving incidents like this lies with local witnesses. We’ve already spoken to a few, but urge anyone with information to come forward.”

Detective Superintendent Marco Bardetti of the North Area Command Unit vowed ongoing support for the investigation alongside local community groups.
