Paedophile Pair Jailed for Horrific Child Sex Crimes and Possessing Sickening Images
Chirk Men Locked Up for Shocking Child Abuse
Two men from Chirk, Wrexham, have been handed hefty jail terms for committing multiple sexual offences against a young boy – and for hoarding vile child rape images. Janos Barber, 28, was sentenced to eight years and 10 months. His flatmate, Samuel Clarke, 30, got six years and eight months behind bars.
Distorted Minds and Devastated Victim
Recorder Duncan Bould condemned the duo, saying their twisted paedophilic urges fuelled their crimes. The victim suffered “untold damage,” the judge said, showing deep sympathy for the boy’s mother. Her heartbreaking victim impact statement, full of “tortured” words, was read out in court, leaving the room heavy with emotion.
Guilty Pleas Unveil Horrific Details
- Barber admitted inciting a child to sexual activity, sexual assault, committing sexual acts in presence of a child, possession of indecent images, and voyeurism.
- Clarke pleaded guilty to sexual activity in the presence of a child and possessing indecent images.
Police swooped on their Church View flat on June 1 after a social media tip-off revealed videos of abuse had been posted from a phone used there. A USB stick was seized containing shocking footage and photos showing the boy involved in sexual acts – both men appeared in the videos.
120,000 Abhorrent Images Discovered
Investigators uncovered an eye-watering 120,000 still images and videos of child abuse, including more than 1,000 of the highest severity – featuring even the rape of a baby. Barber had also secretly filmed boys dressing and undressing at a swimming pool with a hidden camera stashed inside a rucksack.
During sentencing via video link from HMP Berwyn, both men broke down, expressing some remorse, but the judge was clear: the public would view their depravity with horror. Both men were slapped with indefinite orders to remain on the sex offenders register and banned from working with children for life.
“We have heard the tortured words of the victim’s mother and I have every sympathy for her,” Recorder Bould said, sealing the pair’s fate with sentences that reflect the horrific harm they caused.
