Armed Robber Busted and Jailed for 30 Months in Clapham Heist
Steven Faber, 53, from Solon New Road, Clapham, has been locked up for 30 months. He was sentenced on Friday, 14 May, for an armed robbery that shook a local shop in Clapham Park Road.
Gun Threat in the Dead of Night
In the early hours of 12 September 2020, just before 2am, Faber stormed into the store wielding a Beretta-style handgun. He threatened the cashier, shouting, “Give me the money or I’ll shoot you.” Terrified, the cashier handed over £130 before Faber made a swift getaway.
Flying Squad Nails the Armed Thief
The Met’s elite Flying Squad swung into action, analysing CCTV footage to track down the crook. They found Faber and arrested him on 29 September 2020.
“Weapons have no place on the streets of London. Our priority is to protect our communities and target those involved in firearms and violence,” said Detective Constable Stefen Rule, who led the investigation. “This case is another good example of the work we do to remove violent offenders from the streets.”
Faber pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm at Inner London Crown Court, sealing his fate behind bars.
