Detectives investigating the murder of a man found dead in Harold Wood on February 27 have confirmed the victim’s identity as 87-year-old Bernard Fowler from Havering. The victim’s family has requested privacy as they mourn this tragic loss.
Detective Chief Inspector Sam Painter, the senior officer leading the inquiry, expressed his condolences, stating, “My thoughts are with Bernard’s family and loved ones at this time.” He also confirmed that Bernard’s relatives are being supported by specially trained officers.
Inspector Painter emphasised that this was an isolated incident and urged the public to refrain from speculation. “We are carrying out high-visibility patrols in the area and working closely with the Metropolitan Police to provide reassurance,” he added.
Miles Skai, 22, from Brent Cross in Hendon, has been charged with the murder of Bernard Fowler. Skai is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, March 1.
