Police Hunt e-Scooter Creeper After Hackney Marshes Sex Assaults
Detectives have launched a hunt for a man linked to a string of sexual assaults terrorising Hackney Marshes. Between March and August 2024, a suspect has been caught groping lone women over their clothes in the popular park.
Ten Reports, Latest Incident as Recent as August 7
The most recent attack happened on August 7. Cops say the man is believed to be using an e-scooter to carry out the assaults, making a quick getaway after grabbing unsuspecting victims. So far, there have been ten reports of sexual touching filed with police.
Community on Edge – Police Step Up Patrols
Detective Constable Lucy Dunwell from Hackney CID said:
“We recognise the concern this will cause amongst the local community. Many people who walk or run here will be fearful after hearing about these incidents. We are working tirelessly to identify the man responsible.”
Officers are teaming up with Hackney Council to boost patrols around the marshes and reassure worried residents. They urge visitors to stay alert, keep phones charged, and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Authorities have released images of a man who may hold the key to cracking the case. Anyone recognising him is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 3214/02SEP or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
