Drug Lord Jailed Over 10 Years for Using Kids and Threatening Victims

A young man linked to a ruthless Class A drugs ring in Swindon has been locked up for over a decade. Jaden Chutooree, 20, of Pinehurst, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court yesterday (7 August) after admitting charges including drug supply, perverting the course of justice, and stalking.

Using Vulnerable Teens to Push Class A Drugs

The offences took place between April and September 2022, when police uncovered a Class A drugs operation called Hugo running across Swindon. Chutooree used vulnerable people, including a 15-year-old girl, to deal crack cocaine and heroin on the streets.

He was arrested in September 2022 after police connected him to the drugs line through community intelligence and investigations. Initially held in custody, he was granted conditional bail but then began a campaign to cover his tracks.

Relentless Threats, Bribes, and Harassment

Chutooree bombarded co-defendants and victims via social media, trying to force them to lie in court or claim responsibility for his crimes. He dangled hefty sums of money and issued violent threats against them and their families if they didn’t comply.

  • He repeatedly contacted one co-accused several times a day
  • Threatened violence to co-accused and their families
  • Harassed a woman in her 20s with calls and texts from over 65 different phone numbers
  • Offered bribes and gifts for false alibis, then threatened harm when refused

His stalking and harassment earned him an additional sentence and an indefinite restraining order.

Lengthy Jail Term Reflects Severity of Crimes

Chutooree changed his plea from not guilty to guilty and received:

  • 8 years 6 months for involvement in Class A drug supply
  • 2 years for perverting the course of justice
  • 8 months for stalking and harassment (to run concurrently)

Altogether, he faces 10 years and 6 months behind bars.

A second man, 20-year-old Darren Roberts from Redhouse Way, Swindon, got two years suspended for similar drug offences.

Police Praise Victims’ Bravery

“This is an excellent sentence and I’m pleased Chutooree will spend several years behind bars,” said PC Chris White from the Tackling Serious Youth and Gang Violence unit.

“He ran a major drugs ring supplying crack cocaine and heroin. When arrested, he tried to buy off witnesses and intimidate victims, including stalking and threatening a woman relentlessly.

“Perverting the course of justice is a serious offence and thanks to the bravery of those targeted, he is now receiving the punishment he deserves.”
