Motorcyclist airlifted after crash with car in Bilston
A man in his 20s has been airlifted to hospital following a crash between his bike and a car this afternoon in Bilston.
Serious Injuries at Bull Lane Junction
The smash happened just before 2pm at the junction of Bull Lane and Charnwood Close. West Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the scene with an ambulance, paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford carrying a doctor.
Trauma Care and Airlift to Hospital
Paramedics found the motorcyclist lying on the pavement with a serious leg injury. He was given specialist trauma care, pain relief, and immobilised before being flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Car Driver Treated for Shock
The driver of the car, a woman, was treated for shock at the scene and later discharged.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find the motorcyclist, a man believed to be in his 20s, lying on the pavement. It quickly became apparent he had suffered a serious leg injury. He received specialist trauma care at the scene, was given pain relief and immobilised before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.”
Traffic was disrupted while emergency teams attended the crash site.
