Man Stabbed Outside Gillingham Shop – Police Hunt Witnesses

A shocking stabbing rocked Gillingham on Friday night, 27 December 2024, as a man was attacked outside a High Street shop.

Attack Caught Police Off Guard

Just after 8:40 p.m., the victim had parked near the Canterbury Street junction. He was leaving his car when an unknown suspect, accompanied by a woman, launched a vicious attack. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, treating the man for a chest injury before he was rushed to hospital. Thankfully, he has since been discharged.

Teen Arrested as Investigation Gets Underway

Later the same evening, police arrested a 17-year-old boy from Gillingham linked to the stabbing. The teen was released on bail with strict conditions as detectives dig deeper into the case.

“This was a serious assault, and we are working to establish the full circumstances. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.” – Kent Police spokesperson
