A man was left with a broken jaw following a brutal attack involving a beer bottle on Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood. The violent incident occurred at around 11 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024, close to the town’s fire station.

Emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene, and the victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Two days later, on Wednesday, November 27, 25-year-old Nathan Murphy, who has no fixed address, was arrested in connection with the assault. Murphy now faces serious charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Murphy appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 28, where he was remanded in custody. His next hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Maidstone Crown Court.

Kent Police have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses. They are asking anyone who saw the attack or has CCTV or doorbell camera footage to come forward.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time. Any information, no matter how small, could assist our investigation.”
