Police Hunt After Man Tries Forcing Victim Into Car

Police swooped on a car in Brookfield Gardens, Arnold, after reports of three men trying to force another man into a vehicle just after 10.20am on Thursday, 30 March 2023.

Baseball Bat and Police-Style Baton Recovered

Officers searching the car found a baseball bat and a police-style baton, sparking an immediate investigation.

Man Arrested Over Offensive Weapons

A 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in public. He has since been released on bail as inquiries continue.

Inspector Simon Spooner said: “Preventing and reducing the harm caused by dangerous weapons is a priority for the force and we will always deal robustly with anyone suspected as being involved in this sort of criminality.”

“We are working hard to trace other individuals involved in this incident and urge anyone who witnessed the event or has information to come forward.”
