Brave Cop Stabbed During Harefield Disturbance
Chaos erupted in Harefield after a police officer was slashed with a knife while trying to detain a man. The drama unfolded just after 2.40am on Sunday at an address in Dovedale Close.
Armed Man Threatens Officers
Police were called to reports of a disturbance and quickly heard the commotion inside. When officers knocked, a man flung open the door wielding a knife. He threatened the officers and then stabbed one in the arm.
Taser Used, Suspect Arrested
The officer’s colleagues acted fast, deploying a taser to subdue the attacker. The stabbed officer was rushed to hospital, where medics treated his wound. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.
Suspect Held on Serious Charges
A 34-year-old man was arrested on the spot, charged with assault on an emergency worker causing grievous bodily harm and affray. He remains in police custody.
“These officers were courageous and extremely lucky to walk away with minimal injuries,” said T/DCI Thomas Bowen of West Area Basic Command Unit. “This incident highlights the real dangers our police face every day.”
