James Stockwell, a 32-year-old man from Salisbury, has been sentenced to 28 months in prison following a disturbing series of offences that caused fear and distress to one family.
Stockwell, who lives on Friary Lane, pleaded guilty last Friday at Salisbury Crown Court to four counts of criminal damage and dangerous driving.
The offences included throwing bricks through windows at the victim’s home and other family addresses. Additionally, Stockwell slashed the tyres on their vehicles, leaving the household gripped by fear due to the deliberate and targeted nature of the attacks.
On the night of February 21, Stockwell was involved in a dangerous police chase after being spotted in a BMW parked in a layby at Ower. When officers approached, he fled at high speed, driving recklessly by running red lights, crossing solid lines, and ignoring road signs. The pursuit ended when Stockwell crashed into a tree and fled on foot.
Police later arrested Stockwell and charged him with multiple offences related to the incident.
Sgt Megan Peroni commented on the case: “Stockwell’s string of offending was targeted and left his victim living in fear of what he may do next. His dangerous driving during the pursuit showed a total disregard for public safety. It’s sheer luck that no one was seriously injured by his reckless behaviour.”
