Two men have been found guilty of the brutal murder of 33-year-old Ervin Baraku at Seven Sisters Tube station after a thorough investigation by British Transport Police.
Kevin Nguyen, 21, from Tottenham, was convicted of murder at Inner London Crown Court on 12 June. His accomplice, Milumo Pedrinho, also 21 and from Tottenham, had previously pleaded guilty to the same charge in April. Both men are scheduled to return to court on 16 June for sentencing.
The violent attack occurred shortly before 9 AM on 23 July 2024. CCTV footage captured a violent confrontation on the street near Seven Sisters Underground station. Pedrinho chased Ervin Baraku into the station wielding a large knife, with Nguyen following closely behind. At the bottom of the stairs, Pedrinho stabbed Ervin in the chest. Nguyen then fled the scene, leaving Ervin collapsed on the ground.
Paramedics rushed Ervin to hospital, but he tragically died from his injuries a week later on 30 July.
Nguyen was arrested on 24 July, the day after the attack, while Pedrinho was taken into custody three days later on 27 July.
Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn of British Transport Police condemned the attack as “senseless and tragic.” He said, “There is absolutely no place for violence on the Tube network. I’m pleased both men have been held to account for this brutal murder.” Blackburn added, “No sentence can ease the pain of loss, but I hope justice brings Ervin’s family some peace.”
