Swindon Teen Jailed for Terrorist Material Blitz
An 18-year-old from Swindon has been slammed with a six-year jail sentence for spreading terrorist propaganda. Malaki Wheeler, born November 13, 2004, was found guilty of six terror-related charges after a three-week stint in Winchester Crown Court.
Hard-Hitting Terror Charges
Wheeler faced three counts of disseminating terrorist publications under the Terrorism Act 2006 and three counts of gathering info to aid terrorist acts under the 2000 Act. Prosecutors revealed he actively shared racist, antisemitic content, plus bomb-making tips, in a right-wing extremist online chat group.
Police Warn: Young People Falling into Extremism
Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley, head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East, highlighted the alarming trend of youths drawn into online radicalisation. He urged the public to act early if they suspect someone harbouring extremist views.
“If you know someone expressing extreme views or hatred, seek help before it’s too late,” said Dunkerley.
