A 16-year-old boy has been charged with serious offences after a tragic fire in Beckton resulted in the death of a teenage girl more than two years ago.

On Tuesday, 27 January, the teenager was formally charged with manslaughter, arson, and reckless arson endangering life. These charges relate to a devastating blaze that deeply affected the local community.

The fire occurred on Tollgate Road, E6, on 6 April 2023, and tragically took the life of 15-year-old Tiffany Regis. Her death remains central to the ongoing investigation.

The boy has been granted bail and is due to appear next at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 24 February.
