Teen Found Guilty of Murdering 17-Year-Old Charlie Cosser

A 17-year-old has been convicted of murdering fellow teenager Charlie Cosser. The defendant, who was 16 when the crime happened, cannot be named for legal reasons. The fatal stabbing occurred at a party on Marches Road, Warnham, in the early hours of Sunday, 23 July last year.

Charlie, from Milford in Surrey, tragically died from his injuries two days later on 25 July.

Three-Week Trial Ends in Guilty Verdict

The trial unfolded over three weeks at Brighton Law Courts. The jury found the defendant guilty of Charlie’s murder and of possessing a bladed article in public.

Police Praise Public Support and Witnesses

“Our thoughts continue to be with the family, friends and loved ones of Charlie following this devastating incident,” said Detective Chief Inspector Kimball Edey from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team.

“This was a complex and fast-moving investigation. We are grateful for the public’s support and for the witnesses who came forward to help ensure we got justice for Charlie. We will make further comment upon sentencing.”

Sentencing Date Set for June 19

The teen has been remanded in custody and is due to appear for sentencing on June 19. The community awaits justice after this tragic loss.
