Three charged after knife robbery and kidnap shock in Lower Earley

Knife-wielding gang strikes in broad daylight

Three men are behind bars charged with robbery and kidnap following a chilling incident in Lower Earley last Wednesday (24/4). Andrew Youngman, 34, with no fixed address, Anthony Pieper, 34, from South View Avenue, and 31-year-old Thomas Latimer, also homeless, face serious allegations.

Victim threatened and dragged to another location

The terrifying ordeal unfolded around 2pm when a man was threatened with a knife and forcibly taken to an address against his will. Police acted swiftly, and the three suspects were charged with one count each of robbery and kidnap.

Bail and custody decisions made at court

All three appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (26/4). Pieper was remanded in custody, while Youngman and Latimer were granted bail. The trio will next face Reading Crown Court on 28 May.
