Three Young Men Jailed for Brutal Stabbing Murder in Basingstoke

Je’daine Carty, 18, Ismaila Kamarra-Jarra, 19, both from Basingstoke, and 18-year-old Cohan Daley, whose address is withheld for legal reasons, have been convicted of murdering Frantisek Olah. The chilling attack happened after the trio barged into Frantisek’s home on Musgrave Close, Basingstoke, on the night of Sunday 22 May.

Stabbed Up to 20 Times in Own Home

Winchester Crown Court heard officers were called at 11.14pm to the scene, where Frantisek, aged just 31, was found with severe injuries. He tragically died in the early hours of Monday 23 May. A post-mortem revealed he had been stabbed “up to 20 times,” including two wounds from a machete or axe-type weapon.

Prosecutor Sarah Jones KC told the court the attackers shouted demands for car keys and ransacked the kitchen cupboards before fleeing.

“Je’daine Carty, Ismaila Kamarra-Jarra and Cohan Daley arrived at Frantisek’s door and within an astonishingly short period of time he was lying on the floor of his hallway, just inside his own front door, bleeding to death from numerous stab wounds,” she said.

“They mercilessly cut him down with apparently little thought for what they were doing, whether they would be caught or whether others were likely to betray them.”

“Their subsequent behaviour seems to suggest some of them may even have enjoyed the feelings of power or ruthlessness that appear to have possessed them and have revelled in the memories.”

Callous Aftermath: Laughs, Rap Videos & Mocking Lyrics

The court heard the killers laughed after the murder and even wrote twisted rap lyrics and recorded videos boasting about the attack. Prosecutors revealed Carty owed Frantisek money for drugs, adding a dark motive to the fatal assault.

Harsh Sentences Passed at Winchester Crown Court

On Friday 24 February, the guilty verdicts led to severe sentences. Kamarra-Jarra was handed life imprisonment with a minimum of 32 years behind bars. Carty and Daley were both sentenced to life detention with minimum terms of 29 years each.

Detective Chief Inspector Justin Dipper said: “This was a tragic and senseless act of violence that has not only taken the life of a young father of two but destroyed many others, including the lives of the three men sentenced today.

“They carried out a sustained and brutal attack on Frantisek in his own home with his family present, before leaving him to die.”

“I hope today’s sentences provide some comfort to Frantisek’s family at this incredibly difficult time.”

“This case sends a strong message—carrying weapons and serious violence only destroys lives forever.”

“Our commitment to tackling knife crime continues as we work to steer young people away from violence.”

Authorities urge communities to keep reporting knife crime intelligence to help stamp out this deadly threat.
