The disturbing incident occurred on the evening of 11 September, when witnesses reported hearing a loud bang. Upon investigation, the swan was found dead by the water’s edge with a fatal wound to its neck.

Following a witness appeal on 13 September, officers have released CCTV images of several males they wish to question in connection with the case. Police believe these individuals may hold vital information to help solve the incident.

Authorities are urging anyone who recognises any of the men in the photos or has any information about the shooting to contact Wiltshire Police immediately. Members of the public can call 101 and quote reference number 54240107750.

Wiltshire Police remain committed to protecting local wildlife and bringing those responsible for this act to justice. No tip-off is considered too small.
